轉眼間，來到最後一天。今天我們來談Semi-formal letters (半正式書信)。這類型的書信主要寫給，語氣介乎「半生半熟之間」，意思不用太拘謹，但也不用太像朋友一樣。我們看看以下題目吧：

Dear all,
I regret to inform you all that I am going to leave this company next week.
An accident happened to my parents three days ago. My parents were hit by a vehicle. They have been in a critical condition. I need to return to Hong Kong to take care of my parents.
I want to apologize to you all for not saying goodbye properly. I have enjoyed working with you all. All of you are industrious and resourceful. We have so many fond memories. I particularly remember the proofreading project that our team worked on for two months. All of you remained optimistic despite the hardship. For example, you told me jokes to cheer me up whenever I felt stressed. Thanks for your support, I was able to complete my part on time. More importantly, I am grateful to you for introducing me to the wonderful Japanese culture. I really enjoy eating delicious sushi and watching kabuki.
I hope that I can work with you all again in the future, after I have settled my family matter. I wish all of you a great future.

在第一段，作者直接說他要離開公司了，並且時間是下周。”I am going to leave this company next week”, （我會在下周離開本公司）。
在第二段，作者解釋了他為什麼不得不離開。原因是”An accident happened to my parents three days ago”, “They have been in a critical condition. I need to return to Hong Kong to take care of my parents”. （三天前我的父母出了意外，他們的情況非常緊急，我需要回香港照顧我的父母）。

這篇範文非常的結構非常完整，為什麼不得不離開公司，什麼時候離開公司，和同事致歉，為什麼會懷念同事，最後還期盼早日回到公司，所有的資訊都覆蓋了。而且作者的父母是出了車禍，確實是不得不離開公司的原因。因為這封信是寫給所有同事的，所以作者都是提到團隊的專案而非某個具體的同事，這一點做的很好。
