Day 2 : Letter of Complaint – IELTS General Writing Task 1 10-Day Planner

投訴信的兩種主要類型: 第一種,投訴有缺陷的產品,而第二種是投訴令人失望的服務(如餐館、假日)。

考生應該避免犯以下的錯誤:

首先,不要坦率地表達你的情緒;語氣不要令人感到生氣,諷刺和威脅。

例句1:我對你們的服務感到非常失望;

例句2:你們航空公司的工作人員真差勁!

其次,不要提出不合理的要求。

第一段:引言表達你寫這封信的目的 

例句1I am writing to complain about xxx.  (我寫信是為了投訴。)

第二段:簡明扼要地陳述您的投訴。

第三段:說明您希望公司如何解決此問題,包括具體行動和截止日期。

例句1I would appreciate it if you could replace the missing part by next week /offer me a refund of the item.  (如果你能在下周之前替換掉缺失的部分/給我退款,我將不勝感激。)

例句2:請儘快讓我知道你打算採取什麼措施。

例句3:我希望在接下來的五天內收到您的來信。

Sample Essay

Dear Sir,

I am writing with regard to a flight that I missed due to a mistake by one of your employees.

 

Two weeks ago, I was due to catch a flight to Egypt, where I intended to spend four days of holiday. Unfortunately, the attendant at the check-in desk gave me a boarding card for a different flight. I did not notice the mistake until I arrived at the departure gate and it was too late.

 

Owing to the error, I was not allowed to board the flight to Egypt, and this caused me great inconvenience. I had to book a new flight two days later, which meant that I missed two days of my holiday. Worse still, I spent an extra HK$6200 to buy another ticket.

 

As the mistake was caused by your company, I hope that you will compensate me for the cost of the additional flight, as well as for my transportation costs.

 

I look forward to receiving your response.

範文分析:

在第一段,範文也是只用一句話闡述了為什麼他寫這封投訴信,即”regard to a flight that I missed due to a mistake by one of your employees”,由於機場一位員工的失誤他錯過了航班。

在第二段,範文詳細地描述了整件事情發生的過程,裏面提到有兩個原因造成他錯過航班。第一個原因是,”the attendant at the check-in desk gave me a boarding card for a different flight”, 值機櫃檯的服務員給了他一張不同航班的登機牌;第二個原因是,”I did not notice the mistake”, 他並沒有注意到這個錯誤。結果就是”I arrived at the departure gate and it was too late”, 他到了登機門的時候才發現,只是太晚了。

在最後一段,則是一個常用的句子,”I look forward to receiving your response”,期待您的回復。他希望航空公司儘快回復他的信件。

整篇範文非常的完整,從他為什麼寫這封投訴信,到描述錯過航班整件事情的發展經過,再到闡述錯過航班對他帶來許多不便,最後是明確提出航公公司應該怎麼賠償他,寫的非常的流利順暢,而且他的索賠方案也是在合理範圍之內。所以,這是一篇非常好的範文。
